TIG VI - 2006


On 25 December 2006 - 1 January 2007 the annual TIG event was held with the theme of "Trooper Indonesia Gethering VI - Roadventure Java-Bali". This time the TIG VI was attended by the members coming from various areas such as Cilegon, Jakarta, Cirebon, Semarang, Surabaya and Bali as the host, with the total number of participants 31 Chevrolet Troopers from Java, and 17 Troopers from Bali. Total participants 48 cars.

The journey began on 23 December 2006 through the north shore, passing Cirebon and Semarang where the group joined the other local members. The group arrived in Denpasar on 25 December 2006 morning. Upon arrival at the destination, the group was accepted and welcomed with an incredible ceremony and served with the Balinese dancing which was presented by the children of KTI Bali's members.

The following are the details of TIG VI events.

Day-1: 25 December 2006
The first day passed with a trip to the Ceger beach, Garuda Wisnu Kencana monument, Uluwatu and Jimbaran.

Day-2: 26 December 2006
On the 2nd day, two groups started the activities by visitting the General Motors' booth in the exhibition which took place in Water Boom, Kuta area. Then the convoy moved to the Kintamani lake to had lunch in Lake View restaurant, which provides stunning views over the lake and the mountain of Batur. After lunch, the journey continued with the cross country while enjoying the rural scenery and the natural beauty of Bali, over the highest bridge in Asia located in Plagan village.

At night, the groups stayed at Lovely Garden hotel in Bedugul and enjoyed the 'Joged' entertainment prepared by the fellow KTI Bali. Some participants also had some offroading in Baturity, not far from Bedugul area.

Day-3: 27 December 2006
The morning event was a free event. Some participants visited the Bedugul Botanical Garden, and some other visit the local market for shopping. The event then continued with the light offroad through an unspoiled forest, toward the Buyan lake, which were located not far from Bratan lake.

This time, KTI also conducted a charity act to an orphanage in Tabanan. This event was the last event in Bali before all participants prepared themselves for the journey back to Java island.

Day-4: 28 December 2006
At 15:40 WITA the group moved to Gilimanuk and stay overnight at Kalibaru before entering Jember.

Day-5: 29 December 2006
In the morning the group continued to Lumajang via Jember. In Lumajang, participants then regroup with Zaenal and Asep who led and guided the group to Bromo and then continued moving forward to Ranupani and arriving at the famous savanah in Bromo. After photo session, the group then moved down to the dessert sand on the afternoon, and then continued to Lava View hotel for resting.

Day-6: 30 December 2006
In the morning the group went back to the desert sand in Bromo crater to have some light offroad while enjoying the atmosphere, before preparing for the journey to Yogyakarta.

Day-7: 31 December 2006
The group arrived in Kaliurang, Yogyakarta and served with an offroad path. Some participant didn't waste this opportunity to enjoy the track and then moved on through Magelang - Temanggung - Parakan and stayed in Dieng Kedung Pass hotel. The TIG VI participant passed the New Years Eve in this hotel.

Day-8: 1 January 2007
This day was the last day of the TIG VI journey. The group moved to Wonosobo to visit Dieng plateau, and continued the journey to Banjarnegara. TIG VI group then splitted in Purwokerto to returned back to their each destination.
